Blu-ray's Of The Week 8/22/2017
Guardians, Guardians, and did I say Guardians? As you can tell, the theme of the week is Guardians of the Galaxy because that is the only major Blu-ray coming out. However, there is no reason to be disappointed about that because this a highly-anticipated release!
After the massive success of the first Guardians of the Galaxy it only made sense that writer/director James Gunn would return to do the sequel and now three years later here we are. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 feels familiar, yet different because in many ways this film feels a lot smaller on scale than the first movie because in this one it's all about the characters. In many ways it feels like a "massive blockbuster indie." Now for some (like myself), this story really works but for others, not as much.
There are many editions of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 being released today. You can either go with the standard Blu-ray, 4K Blu-ray, Target's exclusive Blu-ray or Best Buy's exclusive Steelbook that comes in standard or 4K.
