Lady Gaga Joins Stellar Cast of Sony's ‘Bullet Train’

Lady Gaga has found her next big screen project

The singer/actress has been cast opposite Brad Pitt in the action thriller “Bullet Train”. Sony will be distributing the film and stunt coordinator turned filmmaker David Leitch (known for the “John Wick” franchise and “Hobbes and Shaw”) will be directing.

Alongside Pitt, Gaga joins an amazing cast including Joey King, Michael Shannon, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Zazie Beetz, Brian Tyree Henry and more. Based on a Japanese novel, “Bullet Train” is set in Tokyo on a fast-moving train and is centred on a group of assassins that each have their own motives. It is unclear what role Gaga will be playing.

This marks yet another exciting project for the multi talented performer. Although mostly known for her music career and elaborate stage persona, Gaga has been among the few musicians to make a critical and commercially successful leap into acting. She started off with small roles in two Robert Rodriguez sequels “Machete Kills” and “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” and won a Golden Globe for her work on “American Horror Story”, but really showed her chops as a thespian opposite Bradley Cooper in his directorial debut “A Star Is Born”. Alongside receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Actress, Gaga also won a Best Song Academy Award for the ballad “Shallow”. Aside from “Bullet Train”, she will take the lead role in Ridley Scott’s crime drama “Gucci”.

In regards to this project, this sounds like it has the potential to be a fun action packed thriller. Leitch has gained a reputation for his outstanding work at directing action sequences filled with amazing choreography and incredible stunt work. And with this cast that he has gotten together, this makes for an exciting project to watch for.

Bullet Train is currently filming and could hit theatres sometime next year
