The Disney machine just keeps rolling along, this time in it’s newest Avengers spin-off, ‘Hawkeye’. The streaming series will follow the title character, played by Jeremy Renner, to a degree, but is seemingly meant as a launch pad for the younger Hawkeye character, Kate Bishop. For months now, fans have been clamoring for the Oscar-nominated-Steinfeld to play Bishop, and recently the rumors seemed to inch closer and closer to reality.

It was confirmed yesterday in the most concrete of ways that Steinfeld has in fact, been cast as Bishop in the series, when on-set photos were captured. Seemingly a subway action scene, Steinfeld can be seen carrying what we would all expect from her (a bow) wearing the trademark purple, and can be seen with co-star and mentor Clint Barton (played by Renner). Details or specificity of the plot will have to remain rumors at this point, as Disney is notoriously air-tight when it comes to releasing any spoilers.

Hawkeye was created by Jonathan Igla, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. The series takes place after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame (2019). Hawkeye is produced by Marvel Studios, with Igla serving as head writer, and Bert & Bertie and Rhys Thomas directing.
