The Shazamily came together for the DC FanDome panel today led by Zachary Levi to announce the title for the follow up to 2019’s ‘Shazam!’ After some teasing about his inability to share anything exciting or even answer some fan’s questions, he was joined by Asher Angel who plays Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer aka Freddy Freeman and Meagan Good; the super version of Darla. They asked if they could talk about the “secret DC cameo” and Levi quickly shut them down. Of course, all of this was just for show and was a cute way to play up the lack of footage to share.

After Faithe Herman, Adrian Brody and the rest of the Shazamily joined the stream and Levi joked about his own version of a “Zack Cut,” of the movie, director David F. Sandberg joined to keep his surrogate children in line and announce the title of the sequel:

Then suddenly, comedian and actor, Sinbad made a surprise appearance! There was no mention of a role he might be playing but after a few Kazam jokes he told Sandberg he’d up for playing a good guy or bad guy; doesn’t matter. Chances he reprises his villain role from Jingle All The Way thus canonizing him and Arnold Schwarzenegger? Probably slim. Regardless, the cast for the sequel showcased some comedic power players.

Finally, Herman revealed what she had been drawing during the panel and it was cute rendition of Zachary Levi surrounded by bright colors and the other heroes with a subtitle at the bottom of the picture: ‘Shazam! Fury Of The Gods.’

The original ‘Shazam’ grossed over $365 million at the global box office and while that may not sound like the biggest hit of DC’s catalog, the film’s budget was on the lower end of the superhero scale making it profitable enough for a round two.

As of right now, ‘Shazam! Fury Of The Gods’ has a release date of November 4, 2022.
