One of FilmSpeak's Own Creates Comedic Short

FilmSpeak’s social media coordinator, Ryan Daly is funding his next project, and the production has an amazing cast and crew, including a big name youtuber.

'Movie Man Munch' is a vibrant new comedy short film conceived by award-winning filmmaker and FilmSpeak staff member Ryan Daly. Building on the success of his previous work, this project promises to deliver a unique and hilarious experience that blends relatable themes with standout performances and innovative storytelling techniques.

When big Canadian YouTuber ‘Movie Man Mark’ announces his food service is coming to the UK, AJ takes the opportunity to become a food delivery cyclist. AJ hopes to earn some money to go to London Film Con with his crush Jaz, but the journey is not as simple as it seems.

During the production of one of his previous films, ‘The Price for a Princess’, Daly captured a spontaneous comedic scene featuring production assistant Nyhal Adams. Adams’ natural improvisation brought unexpected humor to the film, making it a favourite among audiences. Afterwards, Daly decided that their next venture should be a full-fledged comedy. Following the release of ‘The Price for a Princess’, Daly, Adams, and their collaborator Lee-Jerome Johnson embarked on an intensive brainstorming process. Over several weeks, they explored various ideas before landing on a comedy centred on the quirks and challenges of delivery services. Ryan evolved the concept into a compelling narrative short script, showcasing the absurdities and comedic potential inherent in the delivery industry.

Daly, who also works as an editor for YouTuber Movie Man Mark (Mark Ricci), sought to include Mark in the film despite some geographical challenges, as Mark resides in Canada. This led to the ingenious idea of featuring Mark as an AI voice character. Mark's upbeat and energetic personality contrasts perfectly with the protagonist's dry, pessimistic demeanour, creating a dynamic comedic interplay. Ricci is an actor, comedian, and influencer who has been featured on Forbes, Spoiler Magazine, TheHollywodFix, and countless television shows and commercials worldwide. His YouTube channel Movie Man Mark has over 500,000 subscribers and over 150 million views. His TV credits include Prime Video's 'Gen V', Discovery Channel's 'Fear Thy Neighbor', 'Web of Lies', 'If I Should Die'; Netflix's 'Fireman Sam' and the film 'Fireman Sam: Set for Action', as well as the Warner Bros. animated series 'Super Wish'. He was the first teenager in the history of streaming to launch a stand-up special, which landed on Amazon Prime Video.

The talent however, does not begin and end with Ricci. Also making a special appearance in the film is UK music artist Osh. Osh became a recognisable name in the UK following his viral meme "My ye, is different to your ye" in 2018. He has since signed with Columbia Records and has received millions of views from his music videos. Completing the music within the film, is Ken Burton, an award-winning orchestral conductor, composer and performer. He is widely known for his work and appearances on BBC1’s ‘Songs of Praise’, on which he appears regularly as a conductor, musical director, arranger, singer, judge, music producer, and music consultant. He has conducted and directed choirs for major films, including the multi-Oscar-winning and Grammy-winning Marvel film ‘Black Panther’, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, ‘Candy Cane Lane’ (Amazon) ‘Holiday Road’ (Hallmark); is one of the credited choral conductors on the film ‘Jingle Jangle’ and has also contributed as a conductor, contractor, and singer to several other films including ‘Amazing Grace’, and ‘Ugly Dolls.’
