'Legion' Episode 5 Review: Lenny, Lenny, and did I say Lenny?

Lenny, Lenny, and did I say Lenny? Episode 5 is by far the most confusing chapter of Legion, but for all the right reasons. Even though this episode is difficult to follow, there are many revelations that came out of it. BUT as always with an episode of Legion, there are still so many questions and of course what’s an episode of Legion without a massive cliffhanger?

Chapter 5 picks up as David has escaped the astral-plane and created an uninterrupted zone in his mind where he and Syd can “safely” spend time with each other without any issues. After fooling Syd and escaping to his childhood home, he finally reunites with Amy (his captured sister) and gets some interesting information out of her… HE’S ADOPTED!

This may have been a shocker to many people, but those familiar with the character of Legion know that he is in fact the child of Charles Xavier. This information wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Lenny, who still remains to be quite a mystery because of how she was overtaken by “The Devil with the Yellow Eyes.”

While all of this is going on, back in Summerland is where Dr. Bird and her colleague are assembling a plan to go in and rescue David after discovering whom “The Devil with the Yellow Eyes” is. The outcome of the plan earns this episode of Legion as the scariest one yet, with very eerie moments as we get a full look at the devil that’s been haunting David’s memories for years.

Even though we have an idea of who the devil is, it’s fascinating to determine whether or not Lenny has something to do with this entity because her character is still quite a mystery. Also, now that David understands he was adopted, will we get a hint of some Charles Xavier or maybe mention of his character in the one of the next few episodes? This is the beauty about Legion; even though the season is more than halfway over, there are still as many questions as there were at the beginning of the show.
