First 'Loki' Trailer Places the God of Mischief In A Time Traveling Crime Thriller
Marvel Studios revealed the first official trailer for “Loki” during their annual Disney Investor Day 2020 virtual panel.
The first trailer to be revealed was for “Loki,” the spinoff Disney+ series featuring the return of Tom Hiddleston as the titular Norse god of mischief.
The show follows the Loki from 2012 just post-Battle of New York and the events of “The Avengers” as he manages to escape custody with the Tesseract after the time-altering events of “Avengers: Endgame.” After his escape, he finds himself on a journey across time and space as he interrupts and alters human history.
As he messes with the fabric of time, he is ultimately detained by the “Time Variance Authority,” a cosmic policing organization that enforces the laws of time and wants to imprison him for his many crimes against the temporal.
This trailer brought us our first look at Owen Wilson in action (still in an undisclosed role) as one of the TVA time cops who arrests Loki and brings him back into custody. The series will also star Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Sasha Lane.
The show promises to display the strange, weird, and cosmic side of the MCU as we have never seen before through the lens of a crime thriller, and the trailer delivers on this promise.
“Loki” premieres exclusively on Disney+ in May 2021. Check out the full trailer below:
