New 'WandaVision' Trailer Promises Wacky and Bold Direction for Marvel Studios
Marvel Studios released a new and final trailer for the upcoming “WandaVision” Disney+ series at the annual Disney Investor Day today.
The trailer capitalizes on the crazy and zany adventures Wanda and Vision will take on as they traverse strange new realities and multiverses, and we see the surface of the true breadth of Wanda’s powers begin to be tapped with some promising action aside from the comedic sitcom elements we have already seen.
The series stars Elizabeth Olsen returning as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany returning as Vision and will see the return of MCU favorites Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis and Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo. The show will also introduce Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes.
“WandaVision” follows Wanda after the events of “Avengers: Endgame” learning the true scope of her powers after she inadvertently finds herself in a series of alternate realities constructed by her own reality-warping abilities resembling different decades of classic sitcoms where the love of her life, Vision, has been brought back to life as her spouse.
In the process of changing reality in all of these weird and whacky ways, Wanda and Vision find themselves sought after by agents of the newly-founded S.W.O.R.D. trying to contain the anomalies she has created, and an evil cosmic presence trying to take advantage of her power.
The events of “WandaVision” will reportedly lead directly to the events 2022’s “Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness,” where Olsen will return as Wanda in a main supporting role, and usher in the Multiverse to Phase 4 and beyond of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“WandaVision” premieres exclusively on Disney+ on January 15, 2021 as the first original Marvel series on the streaming service. Check out the trailer below:
