BREAKING: First Look at Disney+ series "Cassian Andor" and "The Bad Batch"
Disney gave viewers the first official look behind-the-scenes of the upcoming “Cassian Andor” Disney+ series as well as the first trailer for the animated “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” series during the Disney Investor Day 2020.
The Cassian Andor series, simply titled “Andor,” follows Cassian Andor five years before the events of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” as a maverick Rebel spy during the formative years of the early rebellion. Diego Luna is returning to star as the titular character, along with Alan Tudyk returning to star as Andor’s droid sidekick K-2SO, also from “Rogue One.”
In the course of our first look behind the scenes of the series, we learned that not only has the series already begun filming but that the show will confirmed premiere in 2022 and will last for 12-episodes. The show was described as an “espionage spy thriller” in the Star Wars universe.
Also among the Cassian Andor first look, was our first trailer for "Star Wars: The Bad Batch,” the first animated Disney+ original series in the Star Wars universe set to premiere next year in 2021.
The official press release for the project read the following: “The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in “The Clone Wars”) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch – a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army -- each possess a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.”
