James Gunn Unveils Official Logo For ‘The Suicide Squad’

James Gunn took to Twitter to unveil the official logo for his upcoming DC film, “The Suicide Squad.” This comes as a tease before the DC FanDome Event held by Warner Bros on August 22nd which promises a wide variety of reveals and sneak-peaks of other upcoming DC projects, including more on this very film.

This new official logo, with its bright yellow and red color palette, points to the lighter and more comedic tone promised by Gunn in contrast to the grit and grime of David Ayer’s 2016 “Suicide Squad,” to which this film is a standalone sequel.

However, with the “Suicide” in the logo riddled with bullet holes, we also get a sense of the action and violence we can also expect to see in this film. Gunn also released a slew of official logos in a variety of languages to promote the film worldwide.

“The Suicide Squad” will bring back fan-favorites from the original film, such as Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn (fresh from her outing in “Birds of Prey earlier this year), Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Captain Rick Flagg, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang.

The film will also introduce an ensemble celebrity cast of characters including the likes of John Cena, Taika Waititi, Michael Rooker, Nathan Fillion, Peter Capaldi, and Pete Davidson all playing another grab-bag of fun and zany B- and C-list DC villains.

Gunn now teases newer and better revelations to come on August 22nd during DC FanDome, and speculation now arises about the possibility of seeing a trailer and our first footage of this film yet. “The Suicide Squad” is still expected to meet its original August 6, 2021 release date in the United States.
