The Cinema Spot reports that a “Catwoman” solo series is currently in development for HBO Max. This series will take place in the same continuity as the Robert Pattinson-led “The Batman,” which halted production due to the pandemic.

Zoe Kravitz, who plays the seductive rogue in “The Batman,” is expected to reprise her role in this newly-announced series. Rumor has it that Catwoman will play an antihero role in the upcoming film and spinoff series, as opposed to the main villain. It is still unclear if Pattinson will reprise his role as The Dark Knight in this series.

This information builds on the report from last month that HBO Max is also planning another spinoff series from “The Batman” universe following the Gotham City Police Department with Jeffrey Wright reprising his role as Commissioner Gordon.

All these reports considered, it appears that Warner Bros is planning a massive “Battinson” cinematic universe under “The Batman” director Matt Reeves spanning streaming and theatrical releases to build on the Caped Crusader’s mythos.

Reeves is expected to be an executive producer on this series, along with the GCPD series. “Catwoman” will most likely release on HBO Max in 2022 or 2023, with no filming date established yet.

HBO Max will be presented with a wide array of opportunities to build on their universe from the rich source material and subject matter being introduced in next year’s “The Batman.” The film will also feature Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Paul Dano as The Riddler, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.

“The Batman” was initially scheduled for release on June 25, 2021, but will now aim to release on October 1, 2021.
