Sandra Bullock Joins Brad Pitt in David Leitch's "Bullet Train"

Two of Hollywood’s most popular and enduring A-Listers will be SHARING THE BIG SCREEN for the first time.

Sandra Bullock will be starring opposite Brad Pitt and an already outstanding cast in the action thriller “Bullet Train”. David Leitch, the former stunt coordinator turned action filmmaker behind “John Wick and “Hobbs and Shaw”, will be directing the film and Sony Pictures will act as distributors.

Bullock and Pitt join a cast that includes Lady Gaga, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Joey King, Brian Tyree Henry and Zazie Beetz. Plot details are somewhat vague but the film will be based the Japanese novel “Maria Beetle”, which follows five hitmen on a bullet train who find themselves working on a similar assignment.

Considering that both Oscar-winning actors shot to superstardom around the same time, and that both have managed to grow and maintain their careers over the last two and a half decades, it is somewhat surprising that Bullock and Pitt have never worked together. Originally known more for her romantic comedies, Bullock has grown her resume over the last few years in other genres such as science fiction and thrillers. She is no stranger to action though: her role in “Speed made her a movie star, and “Gravity earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. Next up for Bullock is a Netflix thriller from director Nora Fingscheidt and writer Christopher McQuarrie. She is also attached to produce and star opposite Channing Tatum in Paramount’s adventure rom-com “The Lost City of D”.

For what sounds on paper like a pretty typical action thriller, Leitch has gotten an Oscar-caliber cast for his latest film, including two of the biggest and most selective stars in the industry. Obviously, something in the script must be very special to attract talent this big and diverse. Whether this turns out to be a simple action-adventure throwback or something completely surprising, Leitch has an incredible talent for directing action sequences so it will be unlikely to disappoint. Either way, “Bullet Train” looks to be one of the most anticipated upcoming releases.

Bullet Train is currently shooting and will hit likely hit theaters either this fall or sometime in early 2022. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project, and share your thoughts about the thought of seeing Bullock and Pitt on screen together for the first time in the comments down below!
