The Web Unravels as Prime Video Drops Two Striking 'Spider-Noir' Trailers

Fans get double the viewing options and double the justice as you can watch in ‘authentic noir’ or ‘true-hue color’.

The recent release of the ‘Spider-Noir trailers has sparked massive excitement for the upcoming live-action series with Spidey fans around the globe. Fans were treated to two distinct versions of the footage: an "Authentic Black & White" cut that leans into the 1930s film-noir aesthetic, and a "True-Hue Full Color" version that offers a vibrant, "colorized" take on the era. These trailers introduce Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, a weary private investigator in a gritty, Depression-era New York who is forced to return to his life as the city's lone superhero, simply known as "The Spider".

The footage also provides a first look at an ensemble cast and a reimagined rogues' gallery. Viewers probably noted great Irish actor Brendan Gleeson as the ruthless crime boss Silvermane, Emmy-Award winner Lamorne Morris as journalist Robbie Robertson, and Li Jun Li as the nightclub singer Cat Hardy who sets the plot in motion by hiring Ben for a missing person case. On the villainous side, alongside Silvermane is Jack Huston as the "granite-tough" bodyguard Flint Marko (Sandman) and Abraham Popoola as Tombstone, a veteran looking for an edge in the criminal underworld. Rounding out the primary cast is Karen Rodriguez as Janet, Ben’s scrappy and loyal secretary who helps keep his detective agency afloat. Notably, the trailer also hints at a possible dark change involving the horrifying "Man-Spider" mutation that contrasts sharply with the classic comic book lore.

The Spider-Noir trailers showcase a blend of classic comic book abilities and grounded, gritty reinterpretations for its rogue's gallery. Sandman is seen using his signature powers to morph his body into sand, shifting and reforming to block attacks or strike with blunt force. Megawatt (a noir-era take on Electro) is a standout in the footage, discharging bright bolts of electricity from his hands and punching with spark-covered fists, while Tombstone is depicted in a more realistic light as a veteran crime enforcer. The trailers suggest he retains his comic counterpart’s superhuman durability and strength, making him a "tank" in hand-to-hand combat.

All eight episodes of the series are set to launch on Amazon Prime Video as a global binge release on May 27, 2026.
