Tenet,” the most recent film from director Christopher Nolan, has released four new posters ahead of its prospective August 26th release date in the United Kingdom, and September 3rd release date in the United States.

The posters were released by the “Tenet” official Twitter page:

"Tenet" was originally set to release on July 17 worldwide, but was delayed three times by the pandemic. It will now hit theaters Labor Day weekend domestically and the week prior internationally.

The posters each promise the movie's experience will reach audiences "only in theaters." Warner Bros. has shown it's determined to release "Tenet" in theaters, which comes as no surprise given Nolan's dedication to preserving the theatrical experience. From Linus Sandgren's breathtaking cinematography to Ludwig Göransson's pulse-pounding score, it's clear"Tenet" was designed to be seen on the largest screen possible and Nolan intends on sticking to that.

In the posters, we see the film's stars: John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Elizabeth Debicki. The movie's tagline, "Time runs out," builds upon the enigmatic mind-bending sequences we see in the trailers. The orientation of these posters reassures viewers that they can look forward to seeing all sorts of twists and turns in time while watching the film.

From what we do know about the film, "Tenet" follows an intelligence operative (Washington) who becomes part of a secretive agency called Tenet and must prevent World War III with the help of Pattinson and Debicki's characters. Somewhere along the way, we will see the characters have to deal with a technology capable of warping and reversing the flow of time. Aside from this, not much else is known about the story, as Nolan has kept the film's plot very closely under wraps.

IndieWire is also reporting that "Tenet" will show in select theater locations in 70mm IMAX starting on Monday, August 31, for three nights as a sneak preview of its September 3 release. One of these theaters has already been confirmed as the Chicago Music Box Theater. Advanced tickets are not yet on sale.

"Tenet" will tentatively premiere on September 3 in the United States, and will also feature the likes of Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Himesh Patel, among others.
