Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and More to Join Lady Gaga in Ridley Scott’s ‘Gucci’.

Ridley Scott is once again assembling another outstanding cast for his next project.

Deadline Hollywood has just reported that Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jack Huston and Reeve Carney are being considered for an all-star ensemble, alongside Lady Gaga in Scott’s next potential project Gucci.

It is unknown what roles each actor will play or even if all reach a deal to star but from what we know so far Gaga will be playing the lead role of Patricia Reggiani, an Italian socialite and the ex-wife of businessman Maurizio Gucci who served 18 years in prison for planning his assassination back in 1995. 

For Gaga, this is another juicy role for her to sink her teeth into as Scott is well known for casting and getting the best performances out of his actors. This will be the singer/actress’ first big screen role since her film debut in the 2018 smash A Star Is Born for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar and won for Best Original Song.

Gucci will also see De Niro and Pacino appear on screen together for the fourth time having recently come off Martin Scorsese’s Netflix crime epic The Irishman, which also had Huston in the cast. This will be the second straight pairing of Driver and Scott having also been cast in the director’s next film The Last Duel which will start production again next week after the pandemic shutdown. That movie is scheduled for release next October.

A passion project of both Scott and his partner Giannina, the belief is that there is a lot of potential for a quality big screen feature about Reggiani’s life and the director certainly has the talent and cast to pull it off. MGM will be distributing the film after winning the rights to it back in April.

Considering Scott still needs to wrap The Last Duel before jumping into Gucci, it is unknown when principal photography can begin. A good bet is that shooting will start in the first or second quarter of next year and hit theatres for the 2022 awards season. Keep an eye for more details about Gucci as they come out
