Muschietti took to the panel alongside star Ezra Miller, producer Barbara Muschietti, and screenwriter Christina Hodson to discuss the upcoming film.

The main theme for the film discussed in the panel was the heart that Barry Allen brings to the table. Muschietti (“It” and “It Chapter 2”) is known for incorporating immense heart and family motifs into his movies. Barbara Muschietti assured fans that this will be front and center in “The Flash.”

Muschietti, a lifelong comic book, and “Flash” fan claimed that he has always wanted to make a DC film, specifically a Flash movie, as long as he’s been in the industry. Ezra Miller assured fans that this will be present in the film as audience members will feel the touch of a true comic book fan behind the camera.

Screenwriter Christina Hodson teased that Muschietti truly brings out Miller’s personality, which flows naturally into The Flash bringing the heart and humor Muschietti was looking for. Hodson opened up and revealed she was first introduced to the Flash in 2011 when she read the “Flashpoint” graphic novel, which is the main basis for the plot of the film.

When discussing his role in the film, Miller claimed that the movie will explore the human elements of Barry Allen and balance his down-to-earth personality with his immense power to travel through and manipulate time.

Finally, Muschietti revealed some official concept art for “The Flash” which includes Barry Allen’s new suit (confirmed to be created by Bruce Wayne, now known to be played by Ben Affleck in the movie) and Barry in action alongside Michael Keaton’s Batman from the DC Multiverse.

Muschietti described the new suit as “organic” and fabricated with “light and lightning” giving it a tighter and more flowing feel, in juxtaposition to his bulky and clunky armor from “Justice League.”
