New Spot for ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu’ Debuts
A special Big Game-themed spot for Lucasfilm’s ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu’ just debuted on the Big Game. The Mandalorian and Grogu embark on their most thrilling mission yet in an all-new Star Wars film opening exclusively in theaters May 22, 2026, although don’t expect last night’s spot to thrill while you wait.
The TV spot, featuring the narration of the iconic mustachioed Sam Elliot plays like more of a beer or a truck commercial with the Star Wars duo driing a fleet of Tauntauns. There’s no dialogue between the two, no action shown, merely a snowy backdrop and the two riding together. Disney undoubtedly thought they were bring cute, as the big game often features commercials much like that, giving insight into America and the calloused hands that drive this country, but that might be a completely different demographic than the ones going to see ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ in theatres.
The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu. The film features the duo facing new threats, exploring the Outer Rim, and uncovering dangerous secrets that might just change the face of the galaxy.
Directed by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian and Grogu also stars Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White, and is produced by Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce, with music composed by Ludwig Göransson.
